A gift where some of it literally grows. The khadi tote replaces a plastic bag every day, the planter sits on the desk getting watered each morning, the cork diary holds a year of notes, and when the plantable pencils get too short they go into soil and become herbs. Everything inside earns a place in daily use — nothing is decorative filler, and nothing ends up in a drawer.
Khadi is hand-spun and hand-woven on traditional charkha wheels — the same process that became a symbol of self-reliance during India's independence movement. Production is ten times slower than power-loom, but it creates a texture no machine replicates. The tote bag in this kit is cut and stitched from that fabric.
The plantable pencils are made from seed paper — post-consumer cotton waste mixed with herb seeds, dried on screens, and rolled around graphite cores. When the pencil is too short to write with, it goes into soil and grows into basil, coriander, or marigold.
